Galway Atlantaquaria
Galway Atlantaquaria, Ireland's National Aquarium, is the "jewel in the
crown
of visitor attractions in the West of Ireland" and is home to 170 species
of fresh
water and marine life. Situated on the famous Salthill Promenade, it has
evolved to become undoubtedly one of the finest visitor attractions in
Ireland.
Designed over two floors, visitors follow a vivid interpretation of the
Irish
aquatic landscape: from the glacial mountain streams of Connemara, down
through the famous River Corrib and out into the Atlantic Ocean via Galway
Bay. On the journey exhibits include Salmon, Seahorses, Octopus, Stingrays
and a real 60ft whale skeleton. The aquarium also boasts four types of
native
Irish shark including the rare Angel Shark and graceful Smooth Hound.
Visitors
can take part in the feeding, explore the model submarine, and even hold
Starfish and giant Spider Crabs.
Leisure Land
Leisure Land is a unique entertainment and health and fitness facility
situated on Ireland's longest seaside promenade.
Facilities include ; 25 Metre Deck Level Swimming Pool, Kiddies Pool with
Pirate Ship, Thrilling 65m Waterslide, Outdoor Amusement Park, Restaurant
& Shop, Extensive Events Hall which caters for Concerts, Exhibitions,

Salthill Air Show
The Salthill Air Show is one of the few free Air Shows in Europe and is
held every year along the Salthill Promenade on the shores of
Galway Bay.
Up to 100,000 people have lined the Salthill promenade in years gone by
and this years promises to draw the same numbers. Air show takes plays in
June of each year.
